AI Jewellery CAD Workflow — Sketch, Render, Multi-View, Mesh
The atelier CAD pipeline reimagined — every stage credited, iteratable and shareable. Sketch to render (40s), render to multi-view (4 credits), multi-view to bare-metal (1 credit), bare-metal to 3D mesh (15-25 credits). ~₹384 for the full kit.
Traditional jewellery CAD is a serial waterfall: designer → paper sketch → CAD operator (Rhino / MatrixGold / JewelCAD) → render artist (KeyShot / V-Ray) → client → revisions → back to CAD operator. Each stage adds days, costs ₹5,000-15,000, and every client revision restarts the pipeline. A single piece can cost ₹20,000-40,000 in labour before it's approved for manufacture.
Facetra flips the CAD workflow from serial to parallel. Sketch → render → multi-view → bare-metal → 3D mesh runs on a single unified platform, each step is credit-priced (₹12-420 per stage), and every step is iteratable in seconds. The full CAD kit for one piece: ~32 credits ≈ ₹384. A five-piece bridal set: ~₹1,900. Compare to traditional ₹40,000-1,50,000 outsourced.
What is an AI jewellery CAD workflow?
An AI jewellery CAD workflow is an end-to-end design pipeline that uses AI at every stage from sketch to production-ready 3D mesh, replacing the traditional multi-vendor waterfall (designer + CAD operator + render artist + revisions) with a single credit-priced platform. Unlike traditional CAD (Rhino / MatrixGold / JewelCAD which require licence fees of ₹80,000-1,50,000 and trained operators) or generic AI tools (Midjourney / Stable Diffusion which don't understand jewellery), Facetra is a jewellery-native workflow tool priced per-render, usable by anyone on the studio floor from designer to karigar.
The Facetra CAD workflow, step by step
- Stage 1: Studio — sketch or reference photo → photoreal render (1 credit ≈ ₹12, 40 seconds)
- Stage 2: Multi-View — silhouette-locked 0° / 45° / 90° / 180° sheet for the CAD bench (4 credits ≈ ₹48)
- Stage 3: CAD-Ready — bare-metal casting reference stripped of stones and enamel (1 credit ≈ ₹12)
- Stage 4: BOM — live-rate gold, stones, karigar hours, VAT, making-charges (1 credit ≈ ₹12)
- Stage 5: 3D Mesh — production-ready STL / GLB / OBJ / FBX / USDZ / 3MF (15-25 credits ≈ ₹180-300)
- Optional: Render-from-CAD — reverse pipeline for Rhino / MatrixGold screenshot → photoreal render
- Optional: Auto-Split — decompose the piece into individually addressable components (2 credits)
- Optional: PhotoRoom TouchUp + Catalog compositing for post-manufacture marketing assets
The Facetra workflow (six steps, one afternoon)
- Sketch → Studio → photoreal render in 40 seconds. Send to client on WhatsApp for first look.
- On approval, generate Multi-View sheet — the 0° / 45° / 90° / 180° views your CAD operator or karigar models against.
- Generate CAD-Ready bare-metal view — same silhouette with stones, foil and enamel stripped so casting geometry is visible.
- Generate BOM — auto-populated at today's Zaveri Bazaar gold rate + stone weights + karigar hours + VAT.
- Generate 3D mesh — Standard tier (15 credits) for CAD-bench retopology, HD tier (25 credits) for direct-to-wax printing.
- Hand the full CAD kit to your CAD operator or karigar. Manufacture starts once BOM is approved.

How much does it cost?
Credit-based pricing. Studio render 1 credit per variant, multi-view sheet 4 credits, CAD-ready view 1 credit, 3D mesh 15 credits (Standard) or 25 credits (HD). Credit packs start at ₹1,500 (Starter, 100 credits, ₹15/cr) and go down to ₹12/credit on the Atelier pack (1,300 credits at ₹15,600). New signups get 10 free credits.
Frequently asked questions
Does Facetra replace Rhino / MatrixGold / JewelCAD?
No — Facetra sits upstream of Rhino / MatrixGold / JewelCAD. It produces the design references (renders, multi-view, BOM, 3D mesh) that your CAD operator retopologises into a manufacturable casting file. Your CAD software still owns the final casting file; Facetra collapses the sketch-to-CAD-input pipeline from days to hours.
Can I use Facetra without a CAD operator?
For direct-to-3D-wax pipelines (small ateliers, freelancers, students) — yes, Facetra's HD 3D mesh can go straight to a wax printer for a client-approval sample. For high-volume commercial casting, most ateliers still run a retopology pass in Rhino / MatrixGold before committing to a mould.
How much does a full CAD workflow cost per piece?
~32 credits ≈ ₹384 on the Atelier pack (₹12/credit). Covers all 5 stages including HD 3D mesh. Traditional outsourced route: ₹5,000-15,000 per piece. Break-even for a mid-size atelier: 3-5 pieces per month.
Can multiple people in my studio work in parallel on the pipeline?
Yes — Facetra supports team accounts (via the Enterprise Team page). Designer sketches in Studio, senior reviews the render, junior generates multi-view, CAD operator downloads 3D mesh — all in parallel, all in the same session, no file-handoff friction.
Does Facetra integrate with my existing CAD file storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, S3)?
Currently the full CAD kit exports as a zipped bundle you can drop into any storage. Direct-to-cloud sync is on the roadmap for Q2 2026.
