Frequently asked questions

Is the 3D mesh directly castable, or does it need retopology?

Facetra's mesh is manifold, symmetric and wall-thickness-aware — usable directly for 3D-printed wax and client-approval prototypes. For high-volume commercial casting, most ateliers still run a retopology pass in Rhino or MatrixGold to optimise for their specific pipeline. The mesh saves 90% of the CAD operator's time regardless.

Which tier — Standard or HD?

Standard (15 credits, ~₹180) for client-approval preview and WebGL sharing. HD (25 credits, ~₹300) for direct-to-wax / DMLS printing where fine detail (granulation beads, jaali openwork, meenakari inlay depth) matters. HD has ~4× the polygon density.

How is this different from photogrammetry or NeRF or Meshy AI?

Photogrammetry needs 30-100 photos and produces a mesh with baked photo texture (unusable for casting). NeRF outputs a point cloud, not a mesh. Meshy AI is generic — no jewellery-native vocabulary, no wall-thickness awareness, no symmetry lock. Facetra is jewellery-specific with all three guarantees.

Does it handle articulated pieces (snake bodies, orchid stems)?

For articulated pieces, pair sketch-to-3D with Auto-Split component detection first. Each articulation segment becomes its own STL, and your CAD bench joins them with jump rings, ball chains or ball-and-socket links in Rhino / MatrixGold.

Can I generate 3D for a complete bridal set in one submission?
