For Kundan Ateliers

AI Tool for Kundan Jewellery Design

From heritage sketch to photoreal Kundan render — with the scalloped gold edge, foil backing and 24kt kundan-setting that only a Rajasthani atelier prompt can produce.

Facetra is the only AI jewellery design tool that speaks fluent Kundan. Where generic image models paint decorative gold blobs, Facetra understands the specifics of Kundan-setting: the raised 24kt scalloped gold border pressed around each Polki stone, the pale silver-foil backing that gives Polki its diffuse glow, and the meenakari reverse-work that finishes a heritage piece.

Ateliers across Jaipur, Bikaner, Amritsar and Hyderabad use Facetra to shorten their client meeting → sketch → render → CAD-ready cycle from 4-7 days to the same day. One credit (~₹12) replaces ₹2,000 in outsourced hand-render time.

What is Kundan?

Kundan is a stone-setting method from the Mughal-era Rajasthani royal ateliers where a thin foil of 24-karat pure gold is pressed — by hand pressure, not heat — around a gemstone to secure it into a chaton (metal cup). The signature scalloped gold edge and the foil-backed diffusion of the Polki stone make Kundan the most recognisable Indian jewellery style. Traditionally Kundan is a component of Jadau craftsmanship and is often finished with reverse Meenakari enamel work.

What Facetra does for Kundan Ateliers

  • Native Kundan vocabulary — chaton, karigar, meena reverse, Rajwadi finish, jaali
  • Silhouette-locked multi-view sheet (0° / 45° / 90° / 180°) for your CAD bench
  • Live 22kt / 24kt / silver-foil BOM at today's Zaveri Bazaar rate
  • 3D mesh export (GLB / STL / OBJ / FBX / USDZ / 3MF) for Rhino, MatrixGold, JewelCAD
  • Lasso refinement — change stone colour or meena tone without a full re-render
  • Bare-metal CAD-ready view — strip stones, foil and enamel to see the casting geometry

The Facetra workflow (six steps, one afternoon)

  1. Upload a hand sketch or reference photo of the Kundan piece.
  2. Describe the style: e.g. "heavy bridal Kundan Rani Haar with green meenakari reverse and 18 Polki chatons".
  3. Receive a photoreal render in 40-60 seconds — with foil-backed Polki glow and scalloped kundan edges.
  4. Lasso-refine specific regions: swap emerald chatons for rubies, deepen the meena tone, resize the centrepiece.
  5. Generate a multi-view sheet + bare-metal CAD-ready view + a live-rate BOM.
  6. Export the 3D mesh and hand the CAD kit to your karigar or CAD operator.

Credit packs start at ₹1,500 (Starter, 100 credits, ₹15/cr) and go down to ₹12/credit on the Atelier pack (1,300 credits at ₹15,600). New signups get 10 free credits.

Frequently asked questions

Can Facetra render authentic Kundan-setting edges, not just gold jewellery?

Yes. Facetra's prompt engineering is tuned to reproduce the raised 24kt scalloped edge that identifies Kundan work. It doesn't just paint a gold border — the render shows the hand-worked foil texture, the sealed chaton cup and the diffuse Polki glow that distinguishes real Kundan from prong-set imitations.

Does Facetra handle Kundan + Meenakari reverse work in one render?

Yes. Describe the meena colour (green, red, blue, ivory) and the motif (peacock, floral, jaali) and Facetra renders both sides — the front-facing Kundan-set Polki and the reverse Meenakari in a single multi-view sheet.

What jewellery styles does Facetra handle apart from Kundan?

Jadau, Polki, Meenakari, Temple, Rajwadi, plus modern styles (solitaire, halo, tennis, cocktail). See our dedicated tools for each style linked at the bottom of this page.

How much does one Kundan render cost on Facetra?

1 credit per render (~₹12 at the Atelier pack of ₹15,600 for 1,300 credits). A full CAD kit (render + multi-view + CAD-ready + BOM + 3D mesh) is around 32 credits or ~₹384 — versus ₹2,000-5,000 outsourced.

Do you replace my CAD software like MatrixGold or Rhino?

No. Facetra sits upstream of MatrixGold, Rhino, JewelCAD and Matrix. It produces the design references (renders, multi-view, BOM, 3D mesh) that your CAD operator retopologizes into a manufacturable casting file.
