For Polki Diamond Jewellers

AI Tool for Polki Diamond Jewellery Design

Foil-backed, unfaceted, hand-set — Facetra renders authentic Polki jewellery with the diffuse milky glow that distinguishes real uncut diamond from modern brilliant-cut imitations.

Polki jewellery has a unique optical signature — the silver-foil backing behind each uncut stone reflects light back through the natural crystal, producing a soft, diffuse glow instead of the sharp sparkle of a modern faceted diamond. Getting that glow right is what separates a serious Polki render from a generic gold-and-diamond stock image.

Facetra's prompt library is tuned specifically for Polki: the foil-back interaction, the Kundan-set scalloped edges, the silver-white halo the stone throws, and the way Polki reads in daylight vs. studio lighting. Ateliers use it to iterate on bridal Rani Haars, chandbalis and chokers with clients in real time.

What is Polki Diamond?

Polki refers to unfaceted, hand-cleaved natural diamond — the raw diamond in its original crystal form, before modern brilliant-cut faceting was invented. Polki stones are real diamond (not lab-grown, not glass), and in Indian bridal jewellery they often exceed the cost of equivalent-carat faceted diamonds because of scarcity and the labour of foil-backing. Every Polki stone is set on a silver-leaf foil that gives Polki its characteristic soft, milky brilliance.

What Facetra does for Polki Diamond Jewellers

  • Foil-backed Polki glow rendered natively — not painted-on sparkle
  • Kundan-set scalloped edges around each Polki chaton
  • Multi-view sheet with silhouette-locked 0° / 45° / 90° / 180° views
  • Live BOM: 22kt gold + silver-foil weight + Polki carat + meena panels + karigar hours
  • 3D mesh export (GLB / STL / OBJ / FBX / USDZ) for CAD retopology
  • Bare-metal CAD-ready view — see the casting geometry without stones or foil

The Facetra workflow (six steps, one afternoon)

  1. Upload a paper sketch or reference photo of the Polki piece.
  2. Describe the piece: e.g. "18-chaton bridal Polki Rani Haar, seven pear-shape Polki centres, silver-foil backing visible, 22kt gold".
  3. Render arrives in 40-60 seconds with correct Polki diffusion, not faceted sparkle.
  4. Lasso-refine: swap a pear centre for oval, add ruby drops, deepen the meena reverse.
  5. Multi-view + CAD-ready + BOM + 3D mesh in one export.
  6. Hand the CAD kit to your CAD bench or karigar.

Frequently asked questions

Can Facetra tell the difference between Polki and modern faceted diamond?

Yes — that's the whole point of the tool. Polki has a diffuse, milky glow from foil-backing; faceted diamond has sharp brilliant sparkle. Facetra's prompt engine renders each stone type correctly based on your description.

Does the render show the silver-foil backing?

The foil backing is visible from the reverse side and subtly readable at oblique angles from the front, exactly as it appears in a real Kundan-set Polki piece.

How does Facetra estimate Polki carat weight for the BOM?

The BOM reads the stone diameter x depth ratios from your description or reference photo and estimates carat weight from average Polki density. You can override any value manually — the BOM is fully editable before export.

Is Polki the same as lab-grown or CVD diamond?

No. Polki is real, uncut, natural diamond in its original crystal form. Lab-grown / CVD diamonds are faceted the modern way. Facetra treats them as different visual assets.

Can I render a mixed Polki + solitaire piece?

Yes. Describe the mix — e.g. "Polki side chatons with a 1ct oval solitaire centre" — and Facetra renders both stone types side by side with correct optical behaviour.
